Be-heading (sentences)
As I mentioned we recently discussed empty heads in my syntax class (see previous post). Then, this week in my grammar class we discussed be-heading. This happens when you parse (indicate the grammatical functions of various parts of a sentence) a sentence but leave out the head (the word that controls the whole sentence). In my English grammar class this happens quite frequently. Those poor sentences...
I think I might just have a headache after all of this.
