Malady or "My lady"?

My roommate told a great story today about one of the missionaries that she is teaching. As she was leaving the room, the missionary moved out of the way, gestured toward the door and said, sweetly, "болезен" ('bolyezen' which means "sickness" in Russian"). Confused, she gave him a strange look and asked what he was trying to say. "My lady" he explained. I suspect that only added to the confusion. She explained that bolyezen does not mean my lady. The poor missionary said that he saw it in the dictionary. They didn't resolve the confusion at this point.

Later, during class the missionary showed my roommate where the word "bolyezen" is in the dictionary. Listed as the translation was the word "malady". "See, 'my lady!'" the missionary happily said.

"Elder, I think the problem isn't your Russian... it's your English." And they all died laughing.
